In my quest to release every single demo I ever wrote for my old band Bad Captain, I bring you "The Hurt" and "Lost Together".

The Hurt is one of the first darker songs written for Bad Captain. It was meant to be one of the last songs on the second album and was our way of telling our audience that we were headed in a darker direction going forward. The song originally had lyrics that talked about a close friend who had recently become distant, and how we were trying to bring him back and make him face "the consequences". I never really finished the lyrics (what else is new?) so I decided to remove them completely for this version.

Lost Together was going to be one of the first singles for Bad Captain's third album. We had grown tired of the genre of music associated with our first two albums, and we wanted to explore darker tones and subjects. Guillaume, the last drummer in Bad Captain, played me the main riff one night and I liked it so much I wrote the whole song the next day. Lost Together is one of the last songs I ever wrote specifically for Bad Captain.

I'm releasing both of these to you for my first "Rock" release as a solo artist. I hope you enjoy. More to come!
